I am a cradle Catholic, born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My venture into photography began in 2017 when I picked up my first Canon camera as a hobbyist. Since then, my focus has been capturing people, events, and cars.
In 2023 I second shot my first wedding thanks to my dear friend, Bibi. It brought me so much joy that I knew photography was something I wanted to pursue wholeheartedly and would be my next venture!
Since that memorable wedding day, I decided to invest countless hours to learning everything photography, taking thousands of pictures, and curating my galleries and website to bring you here, reading this bio.
Every step has been taken with care to ensure that what I create is not only beautiful, but spiritually meaningful.
It’s truly an honor to have you here and I would be grateful for the opportunity to serve you!
As we journey through this vale of tears, the Lord has given us His Church and Sacraments as our lifeboat—and it’s the one I choose to remain on.
My hope is to serve Catholic couples and families who take their faith seriously, value authenticity and reverence, and desire their sacred moments to be documented beautifully.
and foremost
Catholic first
When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy volunteering at my parish, exploring new churches, traveling, and making memories with friends. Some personal favorites: The Dark Knight, boba, and sunny summer days by the beach.
Before photography, cars were my world. In 2013, I started my first business, Cruze Culture. That drive and passion for creativity and beauty now shapes the way I capture every moment.
From soccer and basketball, to volleyball, and now pickleball, I’ve always loved staying active and competing. My Catholic faith and athletic upbringing taught me to pursue excellence, better myself, value consistency and the power of discipline.
(but make it fun!)
St. Joseph, diligent protector of Christ, head of the Holy Family, and guardian of Virgins, pray for us!
Choosing St. Joseph as my patron might seem basic or cliché—but for me, it’s deeply personal. He has had my back, and I owe it to him to give credit where it's due.
I once heard something that changed how I see him: Our Lord listens to St. Joseph. It sounds so straightforward, but the weight of that truth is profound. God Himself chose him to raise, guide, and protect Christ. The Son of God obeyed him. That kind of trust and honor speaks volumes—and the effectiveness of his intercession must indeed be profound.
As a man, aside from Christ, there’s no greater example to follow. St. Joseph is not only my patron saint, but my daily companion. Whether I’m editing, on a consultation call, or documenting most sacred moments, I call on him to be with me. He’s a quiet, steady presence, reminding me that this work is more than technique—it’s service, it’s mission, and it’s about doing the will of His Son.
- Jen, family EXPERIENCE
Daniel Parra is exceptional! I have a large family which makes things tricky when it comes to photography. Daniel handled our chaos calmly and was endlessly patient. He took his time with us, and captured lovely shots of my family as we are. I am excited to hang these precious memories in our home and would absolutely work with Daniel again.”
- Joey, engagement Experience
He made sure we got all the shots that we wanted and took his time with us. This was the first photo shoot that I’ve done with my fiancé and we wanted to get the best possible photos for our bethrothal ceremony. We couldn’t be more pleased with the way the photos came out! Daniel is one of the best photographers in Southern California and you definitely won’t regret choosing him to capture your special moment.”
- vanessa, wedding experience
Daniel prayed a Novena for me and my husband before our wedding which was super sweet. Love how he understands the importance of marriage! And that we share the same faith. The pictures came out so beautiful everyone loved the quality!"

Grateful to be a member of The Catholic Bridal Collective (TCBC)! They are committed to providing a comprehensive resource for brides planning a Catholic wedding.
Their directory features experienced and knowledgeable vendors who share your values and are dedicated to creating an unforgettable wedding experience that stays true to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Nikayla is a highly talented Catholic Wedding Photographer based out of South Dakota. Personally I consider her to be the best Catholic wedding photographer out there and I greatly admire her work! She has a curated collection of Catholic photographers located all throughout the US and I am blessed to be one of them. This group allows her to still serve couples whenever she’s already booked or when clients love her style but need a more affordable option. I am honored to be entrusted with her couples and to carry the same heart for capturing the beauty of the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Here’s a recent wedding I had the privilege of photographing for her at the beautiful St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Costa Mesa, CA!
Marissa set out to create a all-in-one journal-style Catholic wedding planner designed specifically for couples preparing for a faith-centered marriage and thus came the Originally Covenant Co. planner. Marissa also set out to create a directory for Catholic wedding vendors so couples seeking to use Catholic businesses for their wedding day had a resource to find them and work with them! I'm grateful to be on their site and be an option for couples who value that align with their beliefs and know the significance of their Sacrament.
