A LOVE THAT REFLECTS HEAVEN’S LIGHT

Steve & Ashley’s Wedding | The Immaculata Catholic Church | University of San Diego Campus | Island Club, Naval Base Coronado | Coronado, CA

Not Just Another Cliché

As cliché as it may sound, they say to find someone who looks at you as though you’re the only person in the room. For Steve and Ashley, this is far from a cliché; it’s simply their reality.

The joy that radiates from the love these two share is truly indescribable. Looking back through these captured moments, I can’t help but be transported back to the overwhelming sense of joy, love, and happiness that surrounds them. There is something so beautiful about witnessing a love so genuine, intentional, and deeply rooted in Christ. The way they look at one another, laugh together, and simply enjoy being in each other’s presence is a reminder of just how special a Christ-centered love can be.

A Christ Centered Love

From the very first touch to the first kiss as the newly pronounced husband and wife, the Nuptial Mass holds such a meaningful and essential place in a wedding day. There is something so beautiful about witnessing two people come together in the presence of Christ, promising a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion with Him at the center of their marriage. I love capturing not only the moments that unfold throughout the Mass, but also the deeper beauty and sacredness of the sacrament itself.

From the way the sunlight poured through the stained-glass windows and illuminated the altar, to the beautiful arches outside the church that seemed to frame the couple so perfectly, every detail felt intentional and full of meaning. The Marian dome brought such vibrancy and life into the church, creating an atmosphere that felt both breathtaking and deeply reverent. All of these little details came together to tell a story that was so much bigger than a wedding day: the beginning of a marriage rooted in Christ and a love that reflects something eternal. Being able to capture these moments, where faith, beauty, and the love between two people intertwine, is one of my favorite parts of being a Catholic wedding photographer.

The Joy Felt Though The Lens

Having the honor to capture the tiniest details, the quietest moments, the subtle glances, the genuine laughter, and the undeniable love shared between two people is what makes wedding photography so special. It’s about preserving not only how a day looked, but how it felt. From the intimate, in-between moments to those breathtaking, almost heavenly shots that take your breath away, every photograph has the ability to leave a lasting impression.

As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of capturing moments that will be cherished for a lifetime, but I also get to bring my own creative vision into the process. I love stepping into the role of a creative director, thoughtfully guiding each moment, directing poses and positioning, working with natural light, and finding beauty in the surroundings to transform even the simplest moments into something unforgettable. It’s about seeing the potential in a scene and knowing how to bring that vision to life through the lens.

Whether it’s the delicate softness of a veil draped over a bride, an intimate close-up that allows you to feel the emotion behind a glance, or the thoughtful detail shots you may not even realize were captured until you revisit your gallery, these are the little things that make all the difference. They turn a beautiful photograph into something much more meaningful: a piece of your story. I want every image to feel intentional, timeless, and full of emotion, allowing you to relive not just what happened, but every feeling that made those moments so special.

An Evening of Love, Laughter, and Celebration

Having the people you love most surround you on one of the biggest and most meaningful days of your life is such a beautiful blessing. Steve and Ashley’s reception was nothing short of a celebration filled with joy, laughter, and so much love. You could feel the happiness radiating throughout the room as family and friends gathered to celebrate the beginning of their marriage and the beautiful life they are building together.

There is something so special about the little moments that make a reception unforgettable. Sharing their very first piece of cake as husband and wife, embracing their loved ones with endless hugs, laughing with friends, and taking the dance floor for their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. These moments may seem simple, but they hold so much meaning. They are the moments that bring everyone together and make a wedding day feel so personal and full of life.

One of the most beautiful and intentional moments of the evening was their public expression of love through the washing of each other’s feet, just as Christ did for His apostles. Such a powerful symbol of humility, service, and selfless love. It was a reminder that marriage is not only about celebrating the love two people share, but also about choosing to serve one another, putting each other first, and reflecting Christ through the way they love.

And, of course, I absolutely love capturing all the excitement, energy, and playful moments that make every wedding reception unique! From a limbo game made out of ties to guests lifting the bride and groom on chairs, spontaneous group dances, endless laughter, and those beautiful sunset portraits, there is never a shortage of memories to capture. Even the little details, like having guests write heartfelt messages to the newlyweds on playing cards, add such a personal touch to the evening.

These are the moments that make wedding receptions so special. The unexpected laughter, the happy tears, the traditions, the silly memories, and the people who make the day what it is. I love being able to document it all, from the most meaningful expressions of love to the carefree moments that remind everyone just how much fun celebrating love can be. Long after the music stops and the evening comes to an end, these are the memories that deserve to be held onto forever.

Cheers to Many Years Together, Steve and Ashley!

May God continue to guide and bless you both through this new jouney together as Husband and Wife!

Couple’s Review

Daniel was such an amazing, attentive, and wonderful photographer for my wedding! Leading up to the wedding he was very responsive, invested, and easy to work with. During the wedding he was a very calm and helpful presence throughout the day, and he beautifully captured the wedding mass and reception. The photos turned out amazing and we cannot recommend him enough!
